High School Equivalency (HSE)

What is the Fairfax HSE Program?  

The approved HSE in Virginia is the GED®. The GED® consists of four subject tests including Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. 

The FCAHS High School Equivalency Program (HSE) helps prepare Fairfax County residents aged 18 and over to take the GED test. More information on the GED test can be found at www.ged.com.

Program Requirements

  • Learners must be 18 or older. 

  • Learners must attend a registration event and earn an approved score on an entrance placement test 

  • Learners must meet FCPS registration requirements.

  • Learners must be a resident of Fairfax County or Falls Church City.

  • Non-school aged learners must pay tuition of $80.00 per semester.

How do I Sign Up for FCAHS HSE prep classes?

Interested learners can sign up through the sign-up genius or by contacting @email for the link.

Registration events are not a guarantee of admission into the test preparation opportunities. A placement test will be given during the event to determine the best placement learners.
