High School Equivalency (HSE)

What is the Fairfax HSE Program?

The High School Equivalency Program (HSE) helps prepare *Fairfax County residents aged 18 and over to take the GED test. The test consists of four parts; Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. The test covers grades 9-12 coursework in all of the above areas. More information on the GED test can be found at www.ged.com.

How do I find out more information about Fairfax County HSE classes?

@email

Learners are invited to sign up for a registration event for the Fall Semester which begins August 23, 2021. Registration events are held at Plum Center, 6815 Edsall Road, Springfield, VA and 400 Elden Street, Herndon, VA throughout July and August 2021. Registration events are not a guarantee of admission into our test prep program; a placement test will be given during the event to determine the best placement for our learners. If their placement test scores qualify them for HSE classes, they will be expected to fill out paperwork and complete additional testing with program staff. Enrollment is completed when registration and tuition requirements are met and a start date has been assigned.

Interested learners can sign up through the sign-up genius listed on our website or by contacting @email for the link.

There is also a regional website that connects learners from Northern Virginia to their local program. It can be accessed at www.novarae.org.

*Falls Church City Learners are eligible to participate in the Fairfax HSE program per the Region 8 Grant Requirements
