Dr. Morgan is career educator. She began her career as a teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She taught reading, language arts, and journalism. She served as a reading specialist, dean of students, and an assistant principal at both a middle and high school, also in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She returned home to Virginia and was principal of Forest Middle School in Bedford County Public Schools for four years and principal at Staunton River High School for five years. Significant accomplishments included: leading a provisionally accredited school to full accreditation, mentoring new principals, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Dr. Morgan joined Fairfax County Public Schools in 2015 as an assistant administrator at Fairfax County Adult High School and was named the director of student services in 2018. Some of her significant accomplishments since starting at Fairfax County Adult High School are: collaborating on school goals for the alternative accreditation plan, implementing blended learning, and updating student registration procedures to align to division policy.
Dr. Morgan holds a B.A. from Florida International University, an M.A. from Nova Southeastern University, and a Doctor of Education from Virginia Tech.
